MHI’s Recent Decisions Have Caused an Irretrievable Loss to India’s E2Wheeler Targets

Advocacy group, Centre for Business, Industry & Trade Advocacy, [C-BITA] that has been actively working on and analysing the impact of policy on the Indian EV Ecosystem has today in a letter to Minister, MHI pointed out that two of MHI’s recent decisions might have caused an irretrievable opportunity loss to India’s E2Wheeler targets. CBITA believes that withholding subsidy amounting to Rs 1200 Crores was the first blow, while slashing the subsidy could have been the second one. Schaeffler India receives Rs 2,700 crore order for its electric axle for EVs

Automotive and industrial parts maker Schaeffler India, part of the Euro 16 million Germany-based Schaeffler Group, has received a Rs 2700 (Euro 300 million) order for its two-in-one electric axles as the supplier transitions to electrification from internal combustion.  The order, is the company's first system-level solution offering in the electric vehicle space, Schaeffler India said over a recent earnings call. REC CMD flags off first fleet of Electric vehicles; targets 100% EVs by 2024-25

REC Chairman and Managing Director Vivek Kumar Dewangan flagged off the first fleet of electric staff vehicles in Gurugram. In a path towards a green future, REC Ltd has set a target of replacement of all conventional staff vehicles with electric vehicles by 2024-25, a company statement said. "In a transition to EV mobility, Vivek Kumar Dewangan, Chairman & Managing Director (CMD), REC Limited flagged off the first fleet of Electric Vehicles (EV) on Thursday at REC World Headquarters, Gurgaon," it stated. Dewangan also inaugurated a fast charging station, which is powered by a rooftop 1 MW (approx) solar plant and therefore, the EV fleet will run on green power, contributing to zero pollution.
