Fourth Partner Energy Commissiones 70 MW Wind-Solar Hybrid Project in Gujarat

Fourth Partner Energy has forayed into hybrid renewable energy solutions by commissioning a 70 MW wind-solar project in the Gondal city of Gujarat. The developer said the 70 MW hybrid project will supply clean energy at 25-35% cheaper rates than grid tariffs to corporate clients in New Delhi and Hyderabad. Off-takers include Filatex, Linde, Nexus Malls (a Blackstone Group company), and Deccan Chemicals. Fourth Partner Energy stated it executed the project within 10 months. It expects the plant to generate nearly 163 million units of clean energy annually. The project comprises 14 wind turbines supplied and erected by GE. Gujarat Becomes No.1 State in Installed Wind Power Capacity

Gujarat has become the No.1 State in installed wind power capacity, pushing the long-time leader Tamil Nadu to the second spot. As of May 31, 2023, Gujarat’s total installed capacity of wind power stood at 10,416 MW, while Tamil Nadu’s wind power capacity was at 10,125 MW. Two years ago, Gujarat’s wind power capacity was about 1,000 MW lower than Tamil Nadu. However, with faster capacity addition, it has made rapid strides in recent months to narrow the gap and emerge as the top State in the segment.
