Challenges & Opportunities in Global PV Supply Diversification

Solar PV is a crucial pillar of clean energy transitions worldwide, underpinning efforts to reach international energy and climate goals. Over the last decade, the amount of solar PV deployed around the world has increased massively while its costs have declined drastically. Putting the world on a path to reaching net zero emissions requires solar PV to expand globally on an even greater scale, raising concerns about security of manufacturing supply for achieving such rapid growth rates – but also offering new opportunities for diversification. Solar PV Manufacturing today The Current Status of Global PV Supply Chain A major geographical shift has occurred in solar PV manufacturing capacity and production over the last decade. China has strengthened its leading position as a manu...

DAS Solar Launches New N-Type Solar Panel With 635W Output & 22.72% Efficiency, Based On it’s Proprietary TOPCon 3.0 Cell Technology

DAS Solar, the China based solar cell and module technology company, has launched a new n-type PRO solar panel with the highest conversion efficiency of 22.72% and power output of 635W targeting utility scale power plants segment. The company says it has used its proprietary n-type TOPCon 3.0 cell technology for the new module along with a high-density encapsulation. It has a bifaciality that reaches 80%. The panel is compatible with all mainstream bracket designs, it added. Other features it mentions the new panel incorporates include SMBB that minimizes grid line shielding, thereby increases its resistance to cell fracture, microcracks and improves reliability. “The TOPCon cell efficiency has topped 26% in the lab and exceeded 25.2% in mass production, which makes DAS Solar the...
