KPI Green Energy Commissions 200 MW Solar Power Plant for Coal India at Khavda Solar Park
KPI Green Energy Limited has successfully commissioned 200 MW (AC) / 269 MW (DC) of solar power capacity for Coal India Limited (CIL) at GIPCL’s Solar Park in Khavda, Gujarat, marking a significant milestone in one of India’s largest renewable energy developments.

The commissioned capacity forms part of the 300 MW (AC) / 405 MW (DC) grid-connected ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) project that KPI Green Energy is executing on an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) basis for Coal India Limited. The commissioning has been certified by the Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA).
The latest milestone further strengthens KPI Green Energy’s presence at Khavda, which has emerged as one of India’s largest renewable energy hubs. The successful execution highlights the company’s capability to deliver utility-scale solar projects within stringent quality and regulatory standards.
With 200 MW now operational, KPI Green Energy is progressing toward commissioning the remaining capacity of the project, reinforcing its position as a leading EPC player in India’s renewable energy sector.
The company said the achievement aligns with KP Group’s vision of building a 10 GW clean energy portfolio by 2030, reflecting its long-term commitment to supporting India’s energy transition through the development of large-scale renewable energy infrastructure.
The Khavda Solar Park has become a strategic destination for utility-scale renewable energy projects and plays a key role in India’s ambition to significantly expand its renewable energy capacity. Projects such as the Coal India solar installation are expected to contribute substantially to the country’s clean energy targets while enhancing sustainable power generation.
