Sunkind Energy joins hands with JA Solar to boost solar cell & solar module manufacturing in India
In a significant move to bolster India’s domestic solar manufacturing ecosystem, Sunkind Energy Limited, one of the country’s fastest‑growing one‑stop solar solution firms, has entered into a technical partnership with JA Solar, a globally renowned Tier-I technology leader known for producing high‑efficiency solar products.
As part of the MoU, Sunkind will leverage JA Solar’s advanced technical expertise and raw‑material supply chain to enhance its solar cell and solar module manufacturing capabilities at its upcoming 2.4 GW PV cell and 4 GW module facilities. The collaboration aims to integrate global best practices and upcoming high‑efficiency technologies, positioning the home‑grown firm as a provider of high‑performance solar products in India’s clean‑energy landscape.

The announcement comes at a time when India’s solar industry is undergoing rapid expansion. In 2024 alone, the country added 30.7 GW of new solar capacity – a 145 % increase over the previous year – making India the third‑largest solar market globally.
JA Solar’s leadership in advanced cell technologies such as TOPCon, paired with its proven production methodologies, will strengthen Sunkind’s operational capabilities as it enters the solar manufacturing domain. The partnership is expected to enhance both output and quality, while aligning with international benchmarks.
This collaboration also contributes to India’s national goal of achieving 500 GW of renewable energy by 2030, with solar projected to account for over 200 GW. By investing in high‑efficiency domestic manufacturing, Sunkind is contributing to reducing import dependency, generating green employment, and accelerating India’s transition to a sustainable, technology‑led energy future.
