SMEV Proposes a Compromise Solution to the FAME Subsidy Payments Issue

The SMEV today indicated reaching a possible breakthrough on the vexatious issue of subsidy payments that created a crisis in the EV industry and a log jam with the MHI. SMEV said that post numerous discussions with EV manufacturers, and those who are impacted by MHI’s decisions since the last 18 months, an unusual, but obvious, possibility for a logical solution has emerged and the OEMs have come around to accepting it as the best under the circumstances. MAHAPREIT’s Ambitious Plan: 1 GW Solar Push for Rural Irrigation and SME Rooftops

The Mahatma Phule Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Technology Ltd (MAHAPREIT), a subsidiary of the state government’s Mahatma Phule Backward Class Development Corporation (MPBCDC), has planned to install 500 megawatt (MW) of decentralised solar projects in the rural parts of the state to power agricultural irrigation over the next two years and another 500 MW rooftop solar units to supply power to micro, small and medium enterprises. The combined capacity will give a significant boost to the government’s goal to reach 22 gigawatt (GW) of renewable energy. Currently, the state generates around 15GW of renewable energy annually. Solar manufacturer Gautam Solar has launched N-type TOPCon (Tunnel oxide passivated contact) and Mono PERC Solar modules at Intersolar Europe, a leading exhibition for the solar Industry. Gautam Solar has launched the TOPCon solar modules in two ranges, 420 Wp-435 Wp for distributors, EPC, developers in residential, commercial & industrial (C&I) segments as well as 565 Wp-580 Wp for utility scale and large C&I customers. Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI), Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India has signed a Power Sale Agreement (PSA) with GRIDCO Odisha, Government of Odisha under which GRIDCO Odisha will purchase 600 MW of wind power from SECI under Tranche – XIII of ISTS (Inter State Transmission System) Connected Wind Power Projects Scheme.
